Shiitake Log Innoc-u-thon!
We’re inviting aspiring mycologists to come inoculate their very own mushroom log.
This workshop will cover the basics of tree selection and harvesting, help attendees gain an understanding of the tools involved, the inoculation process, and impact of mushroom cultivation as an aspect of woodland management.
The event begins at 11 on Saturday morning with coffee, tea and snacks at the farm stand.
After we cover the basics and answer any questions we’ll begin the process of drilling, applying inoculate and wax-sealing our logs.
Everyone who signs up will take home a mushroom log that can bear flushes of Shiitake for 3-5 years!

3.9.2025: Maple Sap Sip n’ Tap
This event took place March 9th and we had a terrific turnout. We’ll definitely do it again next year!
We started with a tutorial on recognizing trees for tapping, guidance on choosing when and where to tap, and some of the basics on gathering tree sap and turning it into syrup. Then we gathered back at the farm stand to warm up and taste the product of our hard work.

We taste-tested Maple and Black Walnut sap and then home-made maple syrup. We drank tea from native and wild-foraged Spicebush and enjoyed a terrific maple and olive oil cake.
Other treats included single-origin coffee brewed with tree sap, maple syrup buttercream icing and maple-orange sorbet with chocolate glaze.
