GARDEN WARRIORS
Pre-Register Now!
Students can expect to develop confidence, improve their ability to focus and ignore distractions, deepen their connection with the Earth, and have a ton of fun!
The class will be divided into three sections, each with their own Curriculum. Here’s an overview:
- Agronomy and Land Stewardship: Activities include nature walks and tree identification, seed saving, starting and transplanting, identification of poisonous plants, harvesting of mushrooms and care for farm animals. In time, select students will be offered garden space where they can demonstrate their learned skills and proudly cultivate their own crops and flowers.
- Martial Arts: From stretches, warm-ups, blocks and strikes to strength-building, agility and powerful self defense strategies, Garden Warriors develop their balance, confidence and capabilities to become proud defenders of their bodies and their physical well-being.
- Meditation: Using breath and body awareness, ancient and modern teachings, and through the support of the group, parents and teachers, the Garden Warriors deepen their inner stillness, their sense of being and belonging, and their oneness with the present moment. These skills are impactful now and later in life as we contend with our place in this world, the challenges of modern life and the gift that is the human mind.
Better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war.

Background and About
All classes will be held on our tiny regenerative farm and led by myself, Pat Scott. I was an instructor at Sky Martial Arts, based in Los Angeles, from 2015-2017 where I developed curriculum and led classes of 5 to 30 students between the ages of 4 and 45 years old. I have a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do and am proficient in essential Hap Ki Do which is a Korean form of basic grappling, excellent for disarming or disengaging from attackers.
I am a student of mindfulness, and have participated in varying forms of meditation since 2008. I have been a practicing member of the Buddhist organization ‘Soka Gakkai’ since 2014. I agree with the great spiritual teachers, that conscious oneness with Being is the true path for our species.
I have a certificate in Permaculture from the Oregon State University and operated Opulent Earth, a turn-key sustainable Landscape Design company, in Los Angeles. We moved to Florida, NY in 2022 to launch Farm on the Fen with the intention of feeding and strengthening our community while doing right by the Earth.
