8.29.2026: Join the Shiitake Log Innocu-thon

Have you been called to commune with our fungal friends? Join us as we dive into the wonderful world of mycelium and take home a freshly inoculated shiitake log.

We begin with a nature walk to share space with our forest which provides the wood for our mushrooms. Together we’ll practice identifying some mushrooms and the trees that grow them. Next a brief science class and tutorial so that you’ll be prepared to inoculate logs at home. Then we’ll dive in: drilling and packing sugar maple bolts then sealing them up with wax.

The farm stand will be available for water and restrooms, and I’m happy to brew up a pot of tea if there are any takers.

The price is $50 per person and includes the class, the sawdust inoculation material, the log, the wax and access to all the necessary tools, protective gear and equipment.

We look forward to seeing you there! Fill out the form below to sign up.

We’ll contact you for payment upon receipt of this form. If you are choosing to pay in person, we ask that you submit your payment by 9/5 to reserve your spot (exceptions may be considered).
